The Emir of Lafia has praised Tinubu’s leadership as transformative, likening it to his legacy in Lagos and expressing hope for Nigeria’s economic future

Tinubu leadership style praised by the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad (retd.), during a courtesy visit by President Bola Tinubu to the palace in Nasarawa State’s capital on Wednesday.

The monarch described Tinubu’s leadership as transformative and reminiscent of the bold changes made during his time as Lagos State Governor.

The Emir recalled his time in Lagos while serving in the Court of Appeal, noting that he witnessed first-hand how Tinubu transformed the city into a modern economic hub.

According to him, the same energy is now being directed toward Nigeria’s national progress under Tinubu’s presidency.

In his words, “We saw how he turned around Lagos and made Lagos what it is today. Your Excellency, you are translating the same into the Nigerian economy, and before you leave office, Nigeria will be great again.”

He welcomed the President warmly and reflected on past campaign visits, saying, “It started here when you came in some years ago. Like I said, you were here twice during the campaign.”

The Emir also recounted a conversation he had with former President Muhammadu Buhari during a state visit, where he vouched for Tinubu’s leadership potential.

As Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, he pledged full support to the President and his administration’s agenda.

President Tinubu, in response, expressed gratitude for the support and reiterated his vision for national development. He highlighted his focus on solid minerals, agriculture, and infrastructure as key pillars of growth for Nasarawa and other states.

“I am happy to be back here in Nasarawa and to confirm what the Emir told me during the campaigns in 2023—that I will be back as President of Nigeria. Thank you,” Tinubu stated.

He also commended the Emir for his foresight and integrity, describing him as a committed and principled national figure.

Tinubu praised Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule for efficient resource management. He revealed that a newly commissioned interchange project was completed without loans, showcasing the governor’s financial discipline.

Reaffirming his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, Tinubu promised to drive reforms that would benefit Nigeria’s youth and secure a better economic future.

“All I have decided is to ensure a change for the future and the best,” he added.

The President’s visit concluded with the commissioning of multiple projects including a flyover, state secretariat, roads, agricultural machinery, and security vehicles.
