Tinubu Appoints New NEMSA Boss, Announces Board Members

President Bola Tinubu appoints Adesayo Michael as NEMSA Managing Director/CEO and names nine other board members, including Ikechi Nwosu as Chairman

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Adesayo Michael as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).

The President also named nine other members to the NEMSA board, including Ikechi Nwosu as Chairman representing the South East and Aliyu Abdulazeez as Executive Director, Technical.

The full list of board members includes Zubair Abdur’rauf Idris (Member), Igba Elizabeth (Member-North Central), Sani Alhaji Shehu (Member–North East), Adeyemi Adetunji (Member–South West), Engr Emmanuel Eneji Nkpe (Member–South South), and Engr. Charles Ogbonna Asogwa (South East).

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made the announcement on Tuesday, 10 February 2026.

NEMSA is responsible for standardising, testing, and certifying electrical materials and equipment across Nigeria.

Additionally, President Tinubu appointed Magaji Da’u Aliyu as Managing Director of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO) in Abuja, which conducts research and development in technology and operates a nuclear research facility.

Furthermore, Tinubu nominated Amina Gamawa (Bauchi) and Abdullahi Muktar (Kaduna) as Commissioners to the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The nominees have been sent to the Senate for confirmation.

These appointments reflect the administration’s focus on strengthening Nigeria’s electricity management, technology development, and fiscal oversight agencies.
