Tinubu Türkiye state visit concludes with nine bilateral agreements as President returns to Nigeria to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following a successful state visit to the Republic of Türkiye, the Presidency confirmed on Saturday night.

President Tinubu’s Airbus A330 landed at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 8:55 p.m., marking the conclusion of the official trip that began on Tuesday.

During the visit, President Tinubu held high-level meetings with Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and other senior officials.

The discussions focused on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties, exploring new areas of cooperation, and expanding existing partnerships to benefit both nations.

The visit culminated in the signing of nine bilateral agreements covering strategic sectors, including defence, energy, security, and scientific research, aimed at enhancing national development.

President Tinubu was accompanied by senior government officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Attorney General and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi, Minister of Defence General Christopher Musa (retd.), and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
