Tolu Arokodare Wolves relegation confirmed as Wolverhampton Wanderers drop to Championship after poor Premier League campaign

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been relegated from the Premier League, confirming a difficult season for Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare after West Ham United’s goalless draw with Crystal Palace left the club mathematically unable to escape the drop zone.

Arokodare’s experiences Wolves relegation setback was sealed with five matches still to play, bringing an end to the club’s eight-year stay in England’s top flight.

Wolves have endured a painful campaign, collecting just 17 points from 33 matches and sitting bottom of the Premier League table, with results failing to improve across the season.

Arokodare, who joined from Genk at the start of the campaign, has struggled to make a strong impact in England, scoring three league goals and providing one assist in 28 appearances.

His debut season has fallen short of expectations following a prolific spell in Belgium, as he found consistency difficult to maintain in a struggling side.

The striker’s season has also been affected by off-field issues, including reported racist abuse earlier in the campaign and alleged dressing room tensions, further compounding a challenging first year in English football.
