Yobe troops neutralize over 20 insurgents, recover weapons, IEDs, and ammunition in Goniri and Timbuktu Triangle during joint military operation

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), deployed in Goniri under Sector 2 of Operation HADIN KAI, have neutralized over 20 insurgents in Yobe State.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for the task force, confirmed that the bandits were detected advancing from Goniri village and the Ngamdu junction, attempting to encircle the military position.

Responding with superior firepower and tactical maneuvers, troops killed over 20 insurgents, including a senior commander identified as Abu Yusu, the Munzir of Dursula.

Weapons, equipment, machine guns, AK-47 rifles, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), bombs, and assorted ammunition were recovered during the operation.

Follow-up patrols in Gwaigomari within the Timbuktu Triangle led to the discovery of additional insurgent bodies. Injured troops were evacuated for medical attention and are reported to be in stable condition.
