UEFA Champions League finals will be in Munich in 2028 and at Spotify Camp Nou in 2029, with Europa and Conference sites also named

UEFA confirmed on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, the UEFA Champions League finals venues for 2028 and 2029 after an Executive Committee meeting. The Allianz Arena in Munich will stage the 2028 final.

Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona will stage the 2029 final, having been chosen ahead of Wembley Stadium.

This season’s showpiece is already set for Atlético Madrid’s Estadio Metropolitano on 5 June 2027.

Munich will then host Europe’s club final for a third time, after Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on penalties there in 2012 and Paris Saint-Germain won the 2025 title at the same ground. UEFA received Munich as the only bidder for 2028.

Barcelona’s rebuilt bowl, planned at about 105,000 seats, last held the final in 1999, when Manchester United scored twice in stoppage time to beat Bayern Munich.

The upper tier and roof are still going up. Awarding 2029 gives the city a dress rehearsal a year before Spain co-hosts the 2030 World Cup with Portugal and Morocco.

Wembley has staged the final three times since 2011 and eight times in the history of the European Cup. Capacity, hotels and airports weighed in Barcelona’s favour after a thinner tournament experience in Budapest earlier this year.

UEFA also named the other spring nights. The Europa League final will be at the National Arena in Bucharest in 2028 and at the National Stadium of Serbia in Belgrade in 2029.

The Conference League final will be at Juventus Stadium in Turin in 2028 and at Puskás Aréna in Budapest in 2029.

The Super Cup will be at the Johan Cruyff ArenA in Amsterdam in 2027 and at Astana Arena in 2028. Women’s Champions League finals were separately listed for Lyon in 2028 and Cardiff in 2029.

Venue votes are infrastructure contests dressed as football romance. Munich offers a proven bowl on a short cycle after 2025.

Barcelona offers a new giant and a World Cup runway. Neither award decides who lifts the cup. It does decide where the cameras will stand when someone does.
