UNIBEN appoints bursar librarian after rigorous selection. Osagie Osifo and Prof. Jane Aba take on five-year terms as bursar and university librarian

UNIBEN appoints bursar librarian after concluding a detailed selection process led by the institution’s Governing Council. The announcement was made on Saturday in Benin by the university’s spokesperson, Dr Benedicta Ehanire.

Mr Osagie Osifo, an Accounting graduate of the University of Benin and Fellow of the Chartered System Accountant, U.S., was named the new substantive bursar. He previously served in the same role at Edo State University, Uzairue.

Professor Jane Aba was confirmed as the new University Librarian. A scholar in Library and Information Science, Aba is an alumna of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She served as Librarian at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, from 2016 to 2021.

Until this new role, she headed the Department of Library and Information Science at the same university.

“These appointments follow a thorough and merit-based selection process,” said Ehanire, confirming that both roles carry a single five-year term.

With this development, UNIBEN appoints bursar librarian duo seen as capable of supporting the university’s administrative and academic growth.
