Manchester United defender Ayden Heaven says a return to Europe is achievable following their 4-1 win over Wolves in the Premier League

Manchester, England – Manchester United teenager Ayden Heaven believes a return to European football is within reach following Monday’s 4-1 Premier League victory over Wolves at Molineux.

The win leaves Ruben Amorim’s side just a point outside the top four as they chase a place in next season’s Champions League.

United rebounded from a disappointing home draw against West Ham last week, with Bruno Fernandes scoring twice, and Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount adding further goals after Jean-Ricner Bellegarde had cancelled out Fernandes’ opener.

United ended the 2024/25 season in 15th place, their lowest top-flight finish in 51 years, missing out on European qualification after losing the Europa League final to Tottenham.

Speaking after the Wolves match, Heaven said: “We dropped points in the last game at home to West Ham and this was the chance to redeem ourselves and get more points. I feel like we did that, especially in the second half.”

The 19-year-old defender, who has started consecutively due to injuries to Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt, added: “Hopefully we can be in Europe next season, which I think we’ll do. Of course, that’s where Manchester United belong.”

Heaven praised Amorim’s trust in him, saying: “He’s trusting me a lot. I feel like I’m working hard every day in training and I’m showing he can trust me in the games that I’m playing.”
