Speaking to Monday Night Club presenter Mark Chapman, Walcott stressed that the match would influence the trajectory of Arsenal’s campaign.

“That’s the game the one that essentially sets the tone for how this whole year is going to look for Arsenal,” he said.

Walcott suggested that a defeat for Mikel Arteta’s side against Manchester City in the final could intensify scrutiny and pressure on the team, potentially impacting their league form.

However, former Premier League striker Chris Sutton expressed a contrasting view, arguing that the League Cup final would have little bearing on the league outcome.

The Carabao Cup final precedes the Premier League clash between Manchester City and Arsenal, scheduled for April 18, which could provide an early indicator of momentum for either side.
