Air Peace has handed a passenger to the police for allegedly possessing a missing item on a Port Harcourt-bound flight, reinforcing security measures

A passenger aboard Air Peace Flight P47190 to Port Harcourt on February 19, 2025, has been handed over to the police for allegedly being in possession of a missing item.

According to Air Peace’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, the passenger was subjected to a thorough search upon landing at Port Harcourt International Airport, leading to the discovery of the missing item.

“The suspect was subsequently handed over to the airport police for further investigation and necessary action,” Ndiulo confirmed in a statement.

Air Peace has expressed growing concern over the increasing trend of thefts onboard its flights. In response, the airline has implemented stricter surveillance measures to deter such incidents.

Ndiulo outlined the airline’s strategy to combat in-flight theft, stating, *“Cabin crew members have been instructed to heighten their vigilance throughout the journey, and in-flight announcements will be intensified to encourage passengers to secure their belongings and report any suspicious activity.”*

Additionally, the airline is considering blacklisting the suspect as part of its zero-tolerance policy against misconduct that compromises passenger safety and comfort.
