Emeka Chukwuma arrested for stolen SUV traced to Abia; vehicle reported missing in Akwa Ibom in 2022, recovered by Scorpion Squad Police team

Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives recovered a Toyota Highlander SUV and apprehended Emeka Edwin Chukwuma, a male from Umuchu, Aguata LGA of Anambra State.

The vehicle, registered as BBR667RM, was reported stolen in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, back in 2022.

The dramatic recovery unfolded on August 22, 2025, through the tactical efforts of the Scorpion Squad, a special unit under the Abia State Police Command.

DSP Maureen Chinaka, spokesperson for the command, confirmed the arrest in a late-night statement released Thursday on behalf of Commissioner Danladi Isa.

She emphasized that investigations are ongoing and that the vehicle’s rightful owner has been contacted to verify its authenticity.

“This recovery underscores our commitment to inter-state crime fighting using actionable intelligence,” the police said.
