John Terry Chelsea title chances dismissed as legend says young squad lacks experience to rival Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal this season

The former captain, speaking to talkSPORT, said that despite Chelsea’s encouraging start—two wins and a draw from their opening three matches—the club is still short of the nous needed to outlast Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal across a gruelling title race.

“I’m not sure Chelsea have enough experience within their squad to push Liverpool and also I don’t want to put pressure on the Chelsea squad as well, so I think it’s Liverpool’s to lose,” Terry explained.

“We are a young squad. Do I think we will? No I don’t, being honest with you, but I think we’ll be right amongst it.”

Chelsea lifted the Conference League last season and secured a Champions League return, but Terry maintains that the Premier League crown remains out of reach for now.
