Italian reports suggest Osimhen personally called Lookman, telling him, “Come to Galatasaray and be happy here!” The 28-year-old forward has struggled for consistent playing time at Atalanta this season following a summer fallout with the club over a failed transfer to Inter Milan.

Lookman recently ended his goal drought for the 2025/26 season, netting in Atalanta’s 1-1 Serie A draw against AC Milan.

The Nigerian struck a sublime shot in the 35th minute to equalise after Samuele Ricci had given the visitors an early lead.

This was Lookman’s seventh appearance in all competitions for the season.

Last term, Lookman showcased his attacking prowess, scoring 15 Serie A goals and providing five assists, in addition to five goals and two assists in the Champions League.

His impressive record underlines why Galatasaray are reportedly eager to bolster their frontline, especially with Barış Alper Yılmaz potentially leaving in January.

With Osimhen’s backing and Lookman’s desire for regular football, a January transfer could become a reality if both clubs reach an agreement.
