The Cranes, led by coach Paul Put, will face Tunisia, Tanzania, and Nigeria in the group stage, opening their campaign against former champions Tunisia next Tuesday before confronting Tanzania and Nigeria.

Nigeria, runners-up at the last AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire, and Tunisia are favourites to progress from the group.

Lorenzen, however, insisted Uganda will make life difficult for their opponents.

“Even against the big nations, it’s always a good result. We’ve never gone under, they’ve always shown themselves in a good light. So, I think any team that comes won’t be comfortable playing us. It’s time to prove that again,” Lorenzen told the Uganda Football Association official website.
