FIFA World Cup 2026 ticket prices have surged to staggering levels on the governing body’s official resale platform, with a seat for the final in New Jersey listed at $143,750 as of Wednesday, February 11.

The 2026 tournament, scheduled to be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico, is already witnessing extraordinary demand.

However, FIFA World Cup 2026 Ticket Prices on the secondary market have drawn sharp criticism from supporters’ groups.

A Category 3 ticket for the opening match between Mexico and South Africa at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City on June 11 was listed at $5,324. The original face value of that ticket was $895.

Even more striking was the price attached to the July 19 final at East Rutherford, New Jersey.

A Category 3 seat, originally priced at $3,450, appeared on the resale marketplace at $143,750. The lowest available ticket for the final stood at $9,775.

Some fixtures have seen minor price adjustments. A ticket for Austria’s group-stage match against Jordan at Levi’s Stadium in California was listed at $552, slightly down from its $620 face value.

Supporters’ organisations have condemned what they describe as excessive pricing that risks alienating loyal fans.

Guillaume Aupretre, spokesperson for the French national team supporters group Irresistibles Français, said the figures were deeply concerning.

“These exorbitant prices do not surprise me. In the end, the passionate fans pay the price. We would prefer tickets benefit real supporters, but unfortunately, that is not the case,” Guillaume Aupretre said.

Despite the backlash, demand remains intense. FIFA has reported receiving around 500 million ticket requests to date, underlining the global appetite for the expanded 48-team tournament.

FIFA clarified that its official platform facilitates resale transactions and applies a 15 per cent service fee, while individual sellers determine the asking prices.
