AMAC PDP chairmanship candidate, withdraws from the FCT council election in favor of APC candidate Christopher Zakka Maikalangu following intervention by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike

The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmanship candidate, Zadna Dantani, has withdrawn from the FCT council election in favor of the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu.

Dantani stated that his decision followed the intervention of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and that he has formally submitted a letter of withdrawal to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He urged his supporters across the 12 wards of AMAC to support Maikalangu, emphasizing that the decision was voluntary and made after thorough consultation with his family and party stakeholders.

This development comes less than 24 hours after the PDP chairmanship candidate for Bwari Area Council, Julius Adamu, also withdrew from the race in favor of APC candidate Joshua Ishaku Musa.
