So-Safe Corps Arrest Cable Thieves Ogun after routine patrol in Ijebu-Ode, recovering tools and motorcycle; suspects handed to police for prosecution

Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps operatives have apprehended three suspected cable thieves in the Ijagun area of Ogun State.

The suspects 30-year-old Adeleje Okunuga, 31-year-old Wale Mosadoluwa, and 33-year-old Anifowose Michael were intercepted while heading toward Ijagun on Monday morning.

Soji Ganzallo, Corps Commander, said the suspects were apprehended by the Special Squad of the Ijebu Zonal Command during a routine patrol.

On interrogation, one suspect allegedly admitted involvement in cable theft since 2023 and claimed that an accomplice currently in custody had instructed him to retrieve tools from a hidden location.

Recovered items included a large cutter, pliers, a screwdriver, and a motorcycle. The suspects and recovered exhibits have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Igbeba Area Command for further investigation and prosecution.

The arrest highlights the ongoing efforts by the So-Safe Corps to curb cable theft and enhance security in Ogun State.
