Deeper Life leader seeks security and progress for Nigeria as the Global Crusade with Kumuyi begins in Ota

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has called for peace, security and progress in Nigeria as the Global Crusade with Kumuyi returns to Ogun State, with the latest edition scheduled to begin on Wednesday in Ota.

Kumuyi made the appeal on Tuesday during a visit to the traditional ruler of Ota, His Majesty Prof. Adeyemi Obalanlege, ahead of the three-day evangelistic outreach at Anglican Grammar School, Ota.

The Kumuyi Prays for Peace appeal came as the cleric responded to questions about Nigeria’s security situation, saying peace and safety remained the shared desire of citizens across the country.

“As for what is our desire for our country, what is the desire of everyone, every citizen? One: peace, security and progress in our land,” Kumuyi said.

“We are praying, and He knows how to answer that prayer and how to give us all the security we need in the land.”

The international evangelist said the decision to take the crusade to Ota was driven by what he described as a spiritual conviction that Ogun State was ready for the outreach.

“The Lord laid it on our hearts that this is the time for Ogun State. This is Ogun State’s time,” he said.

Kumuyi expressed optimism that the crusade would bring spiritual and personal transformation to participants, with salvation, healing and solutions to challenges facing individuals and families among the expected outcomes.

The Global Crusade with Kumuyi has previously been held across several Nigerian states, including Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Oyo, Ondo, Kaduna and Sokoto.

The outreach has also extended beyond Nigeria, with editions held in countries including Benin Republic, Togo, Cameroon, Zambia, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.

Beyond the religious programme, the Ota edition will feature free medical services for members of the public. Kumuyi said medical teams comprising doctors, nurses and specialists would provide consultations, medication and surgical interventions during the outreach.

“The medical team has doctors and nurses and specialist experts, and they go before us, before the GCK, and they touch many lives.

They perform operations, they do eye operations and other surgical procedures, and will provide all the medicine and everything that you need,” he said.

The inclusion of medical services reflects the broader community outreach associated with the crusade, allowing residents to access healthcare alongside the spiritual activities.

Receiving Kumuyi and his wife, as well as South-West state overseers and their wives, the traditional ruler of Ota expressed optimism that their presence would contribute to the spiritual wellbeing and development of the ancient town.

Obalanlege said he was particularly hopeful that the expected transformation of individuals would translate into greater peace within the community.

“I am happy because I believe the Lord is with us here in Ota land, and I believe a lot of lives will be transformed,” the monarch said.

The traditional ruler linked individual transformation with community development, expressing the hope that the outreach would encourage values that strengthen peaceful coexistence among residents.

The return of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi to Ogun comes as religious organisations across Nigeria continue to combine evangelism with humanitarian and community-based initiatives.

For the Ota edition, organisers are expecting residents and visitors to participate in the programme while taking advantage of the free medical services being offered.
