Troops Rescue Kidnapped Victims in Plateau and intercept suspected gunrunner in Kaduna, recovering weapons and reuniting victims with their families

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace deployed in Wase have successfully rescued two kidnapped victims in Plateau State around Kukawa, Kanam Local Government Area.

Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, said the victims were abducted at gunpoint but were abandoned by bandits when troops, acting on intelligence, quickly mobilised to Mansur village in Bauchi State on 22 February 2026.

The victims have been debriefed and reunited with their families.

Meanwhile, troops deployed at Sanga in Kaduna State intercepted 36-year-old Vincent Ibrahim during stop-and-search operations at Kurmin Goro village.

He was found transporting five fabricated rifles to an undisclosed location in Kafanchan.

The operations demonstrate ongoing efforts by the Nigerian military to combat banditry and illegal arms trafficking, reinforcing security in vulnerable communities across Plateau, Bauchi, and Kaduna states.
