Yilwatda nomination form purchased by APC stakeholders with ₦10m as support grows for his re-election ahead of party convention

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have purchased the ₦10 million expression of interest and nomination forms for the party’s National Chairman, Nantawe Goshwe Yilwatda, strengthening his chances of re-election ahead of the party’s national convention later this month.

The forms were presented in Abuja by members of the Prince Simon Ali Support Organisation, who said their action was driven by confidence in Yilwatda’s leadership and capacity to guide the party towards electoral success.

Addressing journalists at the APC national headquarters, the group’s Director-General, Dominic Alancha, said the decision reflects a deliberate move to consolidate earlier endorsements of the chairman.

“We believe in his ability and that is why we endorsed his continuation in January. For us to again consolidate our words, we are here today to make payments for his form,” Alancha said.

He noted that the gesture was not an individual effort but a collective initiative under the support organisation, adding that the stakeholders remain committed to maintaining the party’s zoning arrangement in the North Central.

Alancha also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for backing the zoning formula and ensuring continuity in the party’s leadership structure.

“We want to use this opportunity to thank Mr President for ensuring that the zoning formula is retained in the North Central and for ensuring that Nantawe Yilwatda is returned as national chairman in the upcoming convention,” he said.

The group expressed optimism that the forthcoming convention, scheduled for March 27 and 28, would be inclusive and smoothly conducted.

“With what is happening in the party already, we believe that there is going to be inclusivity and a hitch-free national convention,” Alancha added.
