Rangers NPFL title chase intensifies as Fidelis Ilechukwu warns players to stay focused after 2-0 win over Bayelsa United

Rangers technical adviser Fidelis Ilechukwu has cautioned his players to remain fully focused as they continue their push for a ninth Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title.

Rangers’ Fight for NPFL Title Success remained on track on Sunday night after the Flying Antelopes secured a crucial 2-0 away victory over Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.

Midfielder Chidiebere Nwobodo opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark, giving Rangers the advantage in a tightly contested encounter.

Veteran striker Godwin Obaje later sealed the win with a late strike five minutes from time, taking his tally to 12 league goals this season and strengthening Rangers’ position at the top of the table.

Despite the positive result, Fidelis Ilechukwu warned against complacency, stressing that the title race remains far from over with only two matches left in the season.

He described the performance as encouraging but admitted dissatisfaction with the team’s second-half display, noting lapses in intensity despite a solid defensive effort.

The technical adviser praised the defenders and goalkeeper for maintaining discipline under pressure, ensuring the team secured all three points away from home.
