Godwin Obaje has climbed to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League scoring chart after netting a brace in Enugu Rangers’ 2-1 victory over Bendel Insurance at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

Godwin Obaje moves to top of NPFL scoring chart race saw the experienced striker move to 14 league goals this season, reclaiming his position as one of the division’s most prolific forwards.

Obaje’s latest performance brings him closer to a historic milestone, as he now sits just one goal away from reaching 100 career goals in Nigeria’s top flight.

The former NPFL top scorer, who won the golden boot in 2016 with 18 goals, continues to demonstrate his enduring quality in front of goal.

He is currently being closely pursued by Remo Stars’ Victor Mbaoma and Ikorodu City forward Joseph Arumala, both of whom have scored 13 goals this season and remain in contention for the top scorer award.
