Super Eagles Unity Cup squad London travel as Éric Chelle leads Nigeria team with home and foreign-based players to invitational tournament

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle will on Friday lead Nigeria’s local players and backroom staff to London ahead of the Unity Cup invitational tournament, as preparations intensify for the international friendly competition.

Super Eagles Unity Cup squad London travel will include seven home-based players named in Chelle’s selection, alongside 20 foreign-based professionals expected to join the team in the United Kingdom for the tournament.

The contingent is scheduled to depart from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Friday morning, marking the final stage of preparations before the team’s opening fixture.

Nigeria will face Zimbabwe in the semi-final at The Valley, the home ground of Sky Bet Championship side Charlton Athletic, next week Tuesday, in what is expected to be a competitive encounter as Chelle assesses his squad depth.

In the other semi-final of the invitational tournament, India will take on Jamaica, with both fixtures forming part of a broader international showcase designed to test emerging and established national teams.
