Manchester United plan another midfield signing after agreeing a deal for Ederson as more departures are expected this summer

Manchester United are reportedly planning to sign another midfielder despite reaching an agreement for Atalanta star Ederson in a deal worth €45 million, including add-ons.

The Premier League club is said to have finalised terms with the Brazilian midfielder, who is expected to sign a four-year contract at Old Trafford ahead of the new season.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that United are still active in the market and could bring in additional midfield reinforcements.

According to Romano, manager Michael Carrick is considering further additions as the club prepares for potential departures in midfield.

He noted that both Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte could leave the club this summer, creating room for more signings in that area.

Romano posted on X: “Éderson will only be the first midfield signing at Manchester United, at least another one has been planned. Casemiro and Ugarte to leave so #MUFC will add one more, could be two under certain conditions.”
