Edo Queens Football Club, led by head coach Moses Aduku, secured a commanding 6-2 victory over Abia Angels on Wednesday to move to the summit of the Nigeria Women’s Football League, NWFL, playoff table.

Edo Queens seal NWFL playoff win marked their second win of the ongoing competition, reinforcing their status as strong contenders to retain the title they won in 2024.

The defending champions produced an explosive start, with Chioma Moses opening the scoring in the third minute before going on to deliver a sensational four-goal performance that proved decisive in the match.

Precious Oscar and Atume Doosuur also found the net, adding to a dominant attacking display that left Abia Angels struggling to contain the pace and precision of the Benin City side.

Abia Angels, competing in their first NWFL playoff campaign, managed to register two goals through Mariam Abdulrasheed and Blessing Saleh, offering brief resistance in an otherwise difficult encounter.

The result takes Edo Queens to six points from three matches, placing them in a strong position as the playoff race intensifies.
