Fulham Appoint Álvaro Arbeloa as head coach until 2029, with the former Real Madrid figure returning to management for a new Premier League challenge

Fulham Football Club have appointed former Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa as their new head coach on a contract running until June 2029, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Spanish coach in the Premier League.

The appointment was confirmed on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, after Arbeloa agreed to return to management immediately following his departure from Real Madrid.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported the development, stating that the move had always been expected and that Arbeloa was ready to take charge of Fulham’s next phase.

“Never in doubt: Álvaro Arbeloa, Fulham head coach until June 2029,” Romano wrote on X.

“He’s ready for new chapter and accepted to return to work immediately after leaving Real Madrid.”

Arbeloa arrives at Fulham with a strong connection to Real Madrid, where he developed his coaching career after an accomplished playing spell with the Spanish giants.

His experience within Madrid’s football structure is expected to bring a fresh tactical approach and leadership style to the London club.
