The Adama Barrow condolence visit to Nigeria marked a solemn yet powerful moment as the Gambian President paid tribute to the late Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.

President Barrow, accompanied by First Lady Fatoumata Bah-Barrow, arrived on Friday to personally express his sympathies following the death of Nigeria’s former president.

Welcomed at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport, Barrow inspected a Guard of Honour before heading to Daura, where he met with the Buhari family and the Emir of Daura.

Describing the loss as both personal and continental, Barrow praised Buhari as a symbol of African unity and integrity. “He was a brother, a friend, and a hero to Africa,” he said.

He reflected on Buhari’s vital support during The Gambia’s democratic transition in 2016, emphasizing the late leader’s unwavering belief in justice and sovereignty.
