Adamawa road crash kills four women and injures 26 along Yola-Mubi road during church convention trip

Four women were killed and 26 others injured on Monday evening after a vehicle overturned along the Yola-Mubi road in Adamawa State.

The Deputy Chairman of Song Local Government Area, Donan Prambe, stated that the women were travelling to the Annual Convention of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria in Demsa Local Government Area when the vehicle somersaulted into the bush.

Prambe said three women died immediately at the scene, while others were found lifeless and covered in blood. All victims, including the injured, were transported to the Specialist Hospital in Yola for medical attention.

Medical Director Dr Dauda Wadinga confirmed that those brought alive were receiving treatment.

Spokesperson of the Adamawa State Police Command, Suleiman Nguroje, said updates were pending after consultations with the local DPO.

The accident has raised concerns over road safety and passenger transport during long-distance journeys in the state.
