Alex Iwobi shines with goal and assist as Fulham beat Brentford 3-1 at Craven Cottage in the Premier League

Brentford struck first in the 20th minute when Mikkel Damsgaard capitalised on a misplaced pass from Josh King and drove a precise finish beyond Bernd Leno.

Fulham, however, quickly found their rhythm, with Iwobi leading the fightback. The Nigerian midfielder levelled in the 38th minute, showing composure to slot home after Sasa Lukic’s deflected effort fell into his path.

Just two minutes later, Iwobi turned provider with a perfectly timed through ball that unlocked Brentford’s defence and set up Harry Wilson for a clinical finish, giving Fulham a 2-1 lead before half-time.

The hosts extended their advantage early in the second half when Ryan Sessegnon’s dangerous cross forced Ethan Pinnock into an own goal in the 52nd minute.

From there, Fulham dictated play, frustrating Brentford’s attempts to recover and comfortably securing all three points.

Iwobi, who recorded a goal, an assist, and orchestrated play with tireless energy, was named man of the match.

The result leaves Fulham in seventh place, while Brentford’s away woes deepened with a third consecutive league defeat on the road.
