Adelabu, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), made his declaration during consultations with party leaders and stakeholders across Ogbomoso and Oyo geopolitical zones.

Adelabu, who was the APC governorship candidate in 2019, stated that his decision was not based on mere personal ambition but rather on a strong desire to restore unity, progress, and development in Oyo State. His renewed ambition comes amid efforts to consolidate various party factions under one united front.

Speaking in Ogbomoso, Adelabu emphasised the zone’s political importance. “Ogbomoso is strategic in every election,” he said. “I’m pleased that unity has returned here. It gives me hope that our party can truly come back stronger in 2027.”

He addressed concerns that the APC might impose a candidate, assuring members that internal democracy would be upheld. “I’m here for people to know that no one can impose anybody.

I want to work and prove to our party members that I’m up to the task. I want to show them that I can withstand and survive competition and come out victorious,” he stated confidently.

The bayo adelabu 2027 ambition also comes with a message of reconciliation. The minister publicly sought forgiveness from aggrieved party members and urged stakeholders to prioritise unity and progress over individual differences. “We must all come together,” he said, “and focus on how the APC can reclaim power in 2027.”

During his visit to Oyo town, Adelabu reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance if elected. He said, “I will run an all-inclusive government where everybody will be involved in governance of the state and no one will be left behind.”

He further pledged to prioritise the interests of the Oyo zone, citing its symbolic and historical significance in the state’s political evolution. “Oyo is historical, symbolic, and a blessing to the entire state. Oyo deserves better treatment, and I will ensure it gets what is due.”

The bayo adelabu 2027 ambition also includes support for national leadership. Adelabu encouraged party members in the state to back President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, saying that continued support for the president would bring greater dividends of democracy to Nigeria.

His tour of the zones reflects a strategic effort to reconnect with the grassroots, rebuild bridges within the party, and secure early support ahead of the 2027 polls. Political observers say his proactive engagement with stakeholders signals serious intent and well-structured preparation.

A local party elder in Oyo town, speaking anonymously, said, “Adelabu’s return to the scene with humility and openness is refreshing. He has a strong support base, and many people believe he was unfairly denied the seat in 2019.”

Another party supporter noted, “We have waited for this moment. He has the capacity, the experience, and the grassroots connection. With him, APC has a real shot.”
