Borno terrorist attack leaves soldiers dead and over 100 women and children abducted by Boko Haram in Ngoshe town, Gwoza LGA

An unspecified number of Nigerian military personnel were reportedly killed by terrorists suspected to be Boko Haram fighters during coordinated attacks on a military base and an Internally Displaced Persons camp in Ngoshe town, Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State, on 4 March 2026.

According to a report by Daily Trust, the assailants launched the raid in the evening after Muslims had broken their fast, firing indiscriminately. The terrorists also abducted approximately 100 women and children during the assault, local sources indicated.

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, confirmed the incident and called for an intensified military offensive targeting Boko Haram strongholds in the Sambisa Forest and the Mandara Mountains to prevent further attacks.
