The England international is expected to be sidelined for up to four weeks after limping off with a hamstring injury during Arsenal’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Leeds United.

The 23-year-old forward will also miss England’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia next month, according to a report by BBC Sports on Monday.

Adding to Mikel Arteta’s injury worries, Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard is a major doubt after suffering a shoulder injury in the same match.

The Norwegian midfielder left the Emirates Stadium with his arm in a sling after being substituted in the first half.

Though Ødegaard hasn’t been ruled out completely, his availability for Sunday’s clash at Anfield remains uncertain. Arsenal are hopeful that neither player faces a long-term absence, especially with Saka having missed three months last season with a similar hamstring issue.

Despite these setbacks, the Gunners are better equipped this season. New signings Viktor Gyökeres, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze add firepower to an already dynamic squad.

Arteta can also call on Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and rising talents Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman to fill the attacking void.
