El-Rufai mother dies as family announces passing of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai and seeks prayers for her soul

Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has died, with her passing announced by a family member on Friday.

The announcement was made by her grandson in a Facebook post, in which he confirmed that she died a few hours earlier.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. From Allah SWT we came and to Him we shall all return. I would like to inform the public of the demise of my grandmother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai,” he wrote.

He described the deceased as the biological mother of the former governor and expressed gratitude for her life, while praying for the repose of her soul.

“We are grateful for the life she lived and may Allah SWT bless her gentle soul. On behalf of our family, we seek your prayers,” he added.

Details surrounding the circumstances of her death were not immediately available as of the time of filing this report.
