Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, have arrived in Ikenne, Ogun State, as preparations intensify for their 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying clash against Malawi.

The team and their officials arrived on Monday following a three-week intensive training camp in Abuja aimed at fine-tuning tactics and improving match sharpness ahead of the crucial fixture.

Head coach Moses Aduku’s side is expected to hold its first training session later on Monday evening at the practice pitch of the Remo Stars Stadium, marking the final phase of preparation before the first leg.

The Falconets will host Malawi in the opening leg of the qualifying tie at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Saturday in what is expected to be a highly competitive encounter.

The return leg is scheduled to take place in Malawi on Saturday, May 9, as both teams battle for a place in the next stage of qualification.

The overall winners of the tie will secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which is set to be hosted in Poland from September 5 to 26.

Nigeria’s Falconets will be aiming to maintain their strong tradition in youth women’s football as they seek qualification for another global tournament.
