Renowned Nigerian actor and producer Femi Adebayo has opened up about the defining moment that led him to abandon a career in law for acting, a decision that changed the course of his life and legacy in Nollywood.

Adebayo, who holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Ibadan, began his professional journey working as a lawyer.

At the time, acting was just a hobby he occasionally explored.

However, a single opportunity revealed where his true passion lay.

Speaking in an interview with Pulse, Adebayo recounted how the contrast between his earnings as a lawyer and what he could make as an actor pushed him to make a life-changing decision.

“Honestly speaking, that was when I started working as a lawyer,” he said.

“My salary then was just N20,000 on a monthly basis. And acting was a hobby for me all this while. So not until they invited me for acting roles, they were ready to pay me N50,000 for three days.”

The numbers spoke volumes.

For Adebayo, this moment was more than just a financial comparison—it was clarity.

From acting to producing critically acclaimed films and winning awards, including multiple AMVCA nominations, his decision clearly paid off.
