Femi Azeez says he aims to win the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria after scoring twice on his Super Eagles debut against Zimbabwe

Millwall winger Femi Azeez has expressed his ambition to win the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria, following a standout debut performance for the Super Eagles.

Femi Azeez Super Eagles ambition became clear after the 24-year-old forward scored twice in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup semi-final on Tuesday night.

The former Reading winger delivered a dream debut display, announcing himself on the international stage with composure and attacking intent.

Speaking after the match against Kaitano Tembo’s Zimbabwe side, Azeez outlined his long-term goals with the national team.

He said he hopes to contribute more goals, assists, and creative play as he settles into the squad.

“I want to score more goals, and have assists too. I would also like to create more chances for the team,” he said.

The winger added that representing Nigeria at major tournaments remains a key dream, with AFCON success at the top of his priorities.

“I want to play at the AFCON, and win the competition. It will also be great to play at the World Cup with Nigeria as well,” Azeez stated.

Azeez will be hoping to build on his impressive start when Nigeria face Jamaica in the Unity Cup final on Sunday.
