Nigeria opens GEEP FarmerMoni portal for 2025/2026, offering smallholder farmers interest-free loans up to ₦300,000 to boost productivity

The Federal Government of Nigeria has opened the GEEP (Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme) FarmerMoni portal for 2025/2026, offering interest-free and collateral-free loans of up to ₦300,000 to smallholder farmers nationwide.

Announcing the programme on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, Hamza Baba, national programme manager of GEEP under NSIPA, confirmed the portal is now live for eligible farmers to register.

He described the loans as specifically targeting vulnerable and low-income farmers to enhance productivity, improve rural incomes, and strengthen national food security.

“The loan is interest-free, collateral-free, and designed to support farmers already engaged in agriculture,” Baba said during the inauguration of the Renewed Hope GEEP 3.0 and the FarmerMoni Technical Working Group in Abuja.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

•  Be a Nigerian citizen aged 18 or above.
•  Already engaged in farming (not for new entrants).
•  Own or rent farmland.
•  Belong to a registered farming cooperative or association in their local government.
•  Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN).

How to Apply
Farmers can register online via the official GEEP portal at [https://geep.nsipa.gov.ng](https://geep.nsipa.gov.ng), providing personal details, farm type, NIN, and BVN.

Alternatively, applicants can register physically at National Orientation Agency (NOA) offices or GEEP Desk Officers in their Local Government Area secretariat.

•  Interest Rate: 0%
•  Collateral: None required
•  Repayment: 6 months after a 3-month grace period

Baba advised applicants to be wary of scams, noting that registration is free. While individual applications are allowed, joining a registered cooperative is encouraged to improve verification and loan access.

The programme complements other federal initiatives aimed at youth and agricultural empowerment, such as the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP), which provides grants and mentorship to young Nigerians with viable business ideas.
