In a bold move to drive youth empowerment and financial independence, leading Nigerian tech innovator Hanu Fejiro has launched a free cryptocurrency training programme in Nigeria.

The initiative is designed to equip young people with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the rapidly expanding world of blockchain and decentralised finance (DeFi).

Hosted entirely on Telegram, the training offers participants an immersive experience that blends learning, real-world application, and income opportunities.

With over 300 participants already enrolled from previous sessions in March 2024 and February 2025, the programme is on track to conclude this phase by the end of March 2025.

“Our goal is to train a million people in my lifetime,” said Fejiro, speaking passionately about the long-term vision of the programme. “We are creating opportunities and pathways to financial independence by equipping people with practical tools and insight into digital finance.”

The training includes a comprehensive curriculum covering the fundamentals of crypto and blockchain, essential security practices, and their real-world applications.

Participants also benefit from live sessions with industry experts, community-driven discussions, and hands-on tasks that enable them to apply their knowledge and earn rewards in real-time.

Fejiro highlighted the importance of inclusion, saying: “What if the cure for cancer or world hunger is stored in an uneducated mind? We must do all we can to support everyone, both old and young.”

As cryptocurrency adoption continues to rise globally — driven by tools such as Bitcoin ETFs, stablecoins, and layer-2 networks like Arbitrum and Base — the demand for talent in Web3 roles such as blockchain development, crypto marketing, and DeFi analytics is surging.

Participants in the programme have praised its practical value. Iyanuoluwa shared, “This crypto training has expanded my understanding of digital currencies and blockchain. It has given me the confidence to explore new opportunities in this ever-evolving space.”

Another trainee, Kareem, noted: “I’ve learnt effective strategies for identifying upcoming airdrops and staying actively engaged in the ecosystem. This training has exceeded my expectations.”

Godwin added: “The training has opened my eyes to potential ways of making money by watching top traders’ wallets, verifying airdrops, and avoiding scams.”

In a further commitment to youth development, Fejiro announced that 100 young Nigerians will be awarded full scholarships to pursue the AltSchool Diploma course — an initiative aimed at preparing them for roles in tech and emerging industries.
