According to Cole, a one-year deal for Lewandowski could significantly benefit younger forwards such as Joao Pedro and Liam Delap by offering guidance and goal-scoring support in a demanding season.

The former England international also highlighted Jordan Henderson as another valuable addition, praising his influence at Brentford and insisting that his leadership qualities often go beyond statistics.

Cole emphasised that such players bring intangible qualities that cannot always be measured in match ratings but are crucial for developing younger teammates and stabilising performances.
