Kaduna Security Task Force arrests 398 suspects in coordinated operation, recovering weapons, stolen phones, and illicit drugs across the state

Kaduna security task force arrests have reached a staggering 398 suspects following a nine-day joint security operation across the state.

The clampdown, led by the Kaduna State Police Command and supported by multiple federal and state agencies, has been hailed as one of the most comprehensive in recent years.

The security sweep led to the recovery of a locally made pistol, 29 stolen mobile phones, various dangerous weapons, and large quantities of illicit drugs. The suspects were apprehended in coordinated raids driven by intelligence gathering and strategic surveillance.

In a statement released on Friday by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the force confirmed that the massive arrests resulted from an operation launched by the Kaduna State Government to rid the state of criminal activity.

“The first nine days of this operation have yielded significant results. We have successfully arrested 398 suspects across various parts of the state,” Hassan stated.

“The swift and intelligence-driven nature of the raids has forced many criminal elements to flee Kaduna State out of fear of apprehension.”

Among the high-profile suspects arrested is Mathew Adamu, a known gang leader who has been a major threat to local communities. Officers recovered a locally made pistol from him.

Another suspect, Adamu Umar, was identified as a well-known drug dealer. His case has been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for prosecution.

The recovered mobile phones are being returned to verified owners after identification and verification procedures. The operation also led to the seizure of dangerous weapons and a significant amount of narcotics.

The multi-agency task force includes the Nigeria Police Force, the military, Department of State Services, Civil Defence, Immigration, Correctional Services, NDLEA, the Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Customs Service, Kaduna Vigilance Service (Kadvis), and the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA).

Quoting the Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, the statement underscored the determination of the task force. “This clampdown is just the beginning.

Our officers and all members of the task force are on high alert and remain fully committed to restoring peace and order in Kaduna State. We will not rest until every corner of this state is free from criminal elements.”

The state government has reiterated its resolve to support all measures necessary to sanitise the state and restore confidence among residents.

As the operation continues, citizens have been encouraged to cooperate with security agents and report suspicious activity promptly.

With the crackdown gaining momentum, authorities are optimistic that Kaduna will soon witness a substantial drop in criminal activity, setting a precedent for coordinated security efforts across Nigeria.
