The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Wednesday expressed profound sorrow over the passing of former Commissioner for Finance and distinguished academic, Prof. Kabiru Isa Dandago.

Prof. Kabiru Isa Dandago reportedly died at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital following a brief illness.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s condolence message, issued through his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, described the late professor as a dedicated public servant and accomplished scholar whose contributions to education and governance left enduring legacies in Kano State.

According to the governor, Prof. Dandago served the state with integrity and commitment, earning respect for his professionalism, humility and passion for knowledge.

“The death of Prof. Dandago is a huge loss to Kano State. We have lost a valuable son whose experience and wisdom greatly enriched public service and the academic community,” Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf said.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the academic community and the people of Kano State over what he described as an irreparable loss.

The governor also prayed that Almighty Allah forgive any shortcomings of the late Prof. Dandago, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and provide strength and fortitude to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
