NPFL Punishes Kano Pillars With Heavy Fines were announced after the league found the club guilty of failing to provide adequate security at their stadium, a lapse that allowed unauthorised individuals access to restricted areas and contributed to a pitch invasion.

NPFL further stated that supporters engaged in unruly behaviour that endangered players and match officials, including harassment and intimidation that disrupted the flow of the game.

As part of the disciplinary measures, Kano Pillars were fined a total of N15 million, with penalties broken down across several violations, including security failures, unsporting conduct, and misconduct towards match officials.

In addition to the financial sanctions, the club has been ordered to play its next three home matches behind closed doors, a restriction that extends into the opening fixtures of the next season.

The league body emphasised that the decision is aimed at reinforcing discipline, ensuring safety at match venues, and protecting the integrity of the competition.
