The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Faruk, announced this on Friday while inaugurating the State Voter Registration Mobilisation Committee at the Cabinet Office, Kano.

He explained that the committee comprises technocrats, Islamic scholars, broadcasters, business leaders, and other stakeholders including representatives of opposition political parties.

This broad-based approach, he said, demonstrates the government’s commitment to ensuring inclusive participation.

“The objective of setting up this committee is to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out of this exercise,” Faruk stated. “Government will provide all the needed support to achieve this target.”

The committee has been tasked with carrying out sensitisation campaigns across all 44 local government areas of Kano State, encouraging citizens to register and strengthen democratic participation.

Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Malam Ibrahim Waiya, expressed confidence in the team’s ability to meet its mandate.
