Liverpool crisis deepens after four straight losses. Carragher warns of defensive weaknesses; Neville urges Arne Slot to find stability at Anfield

Liverpool crisis is raising serious concerns at Anfield following four consecutive defeats, with club legend Jamie Carragher warning that the team’s form signals a period of turmoil.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Monday, Carragher said, “Losing four games in a row for Brentford would be a disaster. To see the champions do it with the expenditure in the summer means we’re in a crisis time for Liverpool right now.

“There will be a lot of serious questions asked in the dressing room between the players and the coaching staff and the people above the manager. When they’ve looked at what they’ve spent, they’ll be looking for a lot more.”

The former defender highlighted Liverpool’s defensive weaknesses, particularly a lack of physicality and height in key areas.

“Liverpool have to look at the physicality and height within their team because, right now, I don’t think they have enough,” Carragher stressed.

Ex-Man United defender Gary Neville also weighed in, comparing Arne Slot’s Liverpool to chaotic periods of his former club. He emphasised the need for a solid foundation in defence, suggesting the team simplify tactics and ensure midfield and backline stability.

“Maybe it’s time for Arne Slot to simplify things. If he keeps playing Kerkez at left-back and Bradley at right-back and they are exposed in midfield, they will keep on getting the same results,” Neville said.
