The development was confirmed on Monday by the team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, who disclosed that the shot-stopper suffered a “thigh knock” while preparing for the encounter.

The Maduka Okoye injury comes just days after his return to the national team, having missed the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

He had marked his comeback with a solid performance in Nigeria’s 2–1 victory over Iran in the opening match of the four-nation invitational tournament.

With Okoye unavailable, head coach Eric Chelle is expected to turn to either Adebayo Adeleye or Francis Uzoho in goal, as Stanley Nwabali was not included in the squad.

Nigeria are also contending with additional setbacks ahead of the fixture. Defender Semi Ajayi has been sidelined with a knock, while Bruno Onyemaechi has left camp following the birth of his first child.

The Super Eagles will face the Jordan national team on Tuesday in Antalya, with kick-off scheduled for 6:30 pm Nigerian time.
