City relied on two goals from Erling Haaland and a strike from Phil Foden to secure the victory after withstanding early Palace pressure.

Guardiola praised Haaland’s all-round performance, saying the striker not only scored but also helped the team maintain composure in the second half.

Palace, who defeated City in last season’s FA Cup final, missed several early chances, including a striking attempt from Yeremy Pino that hit the bar.

Foden’s goal doubled City’s lead before Haaland sealed the win with a late penalty following a challenge on Savinho.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa overturned a two-goal deficit to beat West Ham 3-2, with Morgan Rogers scoring the decisive goal from outside the box.

The win keeps Villa three points behind Arsenal, highlighting a remarkable recovery after failing to score in their first four league matches.

Nottingham Forest secured a 3-0 victory over struggling Tottenham, thanks to goals from Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ibrahim Sangare, while Sunderland edged local rivals Newcastle 1-0 due to a Nick Woltemade own goal.

The results tightened the Premier League title race as Arsenal hold a slim advantage over Guardiola’s men, while the battle to avoid relegation and the fight for European spots intensifies.
