Rashford, who joined on loan from Manchester United last month with an option for a £30 million permanent transfer, is one of three new signings — alongside Roony Bardghji and Wojciech Szczesny — yet to receive clearance to play.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed on Monday that only goalkeeper Joan Garcia has been officially registered, following the resolution of a dispute with Marc-André ter Stegen.

“We’re working to make it happen,” Laporta said. “Hopefully we can register them before LaLiga starts. If not, there’s still time.”

Ter Stegen, who was stripped of the captaincy last week over a row linked to his back surgery, has since reached an agreement with the club.

His medical clearance was filed, and he has now been reinstated as captain with Laporta praising him as “an excellent goalkeeper and person” who has served Barça for 12 seasons and lifted the Champions League.

Barcelona’s ongoing financial challenges have frequently delayed player registrations. Last season, Dani Olmo and Pau Victor were temporarily cleared to play before LaLiga revoked their licences mid-season, leading to a prolonged dispute.
