Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick has addressed growing speculation over his future, stating that the decision is not within his control as discussions continue about the club’s long-term direction.

Michael Carrick made the comments while speaking on his current situation, following an impressive run of results that has strengthened his position at Old Trafford.

According to reports shared by Fabrizio Romano, Michael Carrick emphasised that his focus remains entirely on team performance and improvement rather than personal job security.

“It’s not about what I’d like or not like, it’s not in my control,” Michael Carrick said.

He added that the team’s progress has been positive and expressed satisfaction with recent performances, while maintaining a cautious stance on what comes next.

“Everything has gone so well, I’m happy with where we are, we want to get better. Let’s see what happens next. I’m not thinking about it,” he said.

Carrick’s remarks come amid ongoing uncertainty over Manchester United’s managerial direction following a strong spell under his leadership.
