“I think for me, it’d be too early for Fabregas,” Mikel said, as he weighed in on the ongoing managerial debate at Stamford Bridge.

“On Filipe Luis, he is a fantastic manager and his team played fantastic football in the Club World Cup and had an objective of how they wanted to play,” he said, stressing the importance of structure and clarity in modern coaching.

Mikel further noted that Filipe Luís’s teams exhibit strong organisation and intent, describing these qualities as indicators of potential success at the highest level of club management.

“There was a clear structure, playing with purpose, that’s how you know someone can become a top manager,” he added.

While acknowledging that the move may still be premature, Mikel Obi ultimately ranked Filipe Luís ahead of other linked candidates, suggesting he would be his preferred choice should Chelsea proceed with any of the current options.

“Maybe it’s too early, but of all the three managers mentioned, if they go with any of them, I’ll probably say Filipe Luis,” he concluded.
