Nigerian Christian pilgrims return safely from Jordan after completing their 2025 Easter pilgrimage, with seamless airlift and strong safety measures

The first batch of Nigerian Christian pilgrims is scheduled to depart Jordan today, marking the beginning of their return journey after participating in this year’s delayed 2025 Easter pilgrimage.

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) confirmed that pilgrims from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Benue, Edo, Taraba, Ondo, and other states have completed their spiritual activities in Jordan and will soon be airlifted back home.

Rt. Rev. Stephen Adegbite, Executive Secretary of the NCPC, represented by Bishop Raphael Nwankwo, expressed satisfaction with the pilgrims’ conduct throughout their stay.

He assured that adequate logistics and safety measures were in place to ensure a smooth and secure airlift.

“The commission has worked closely with our partners in Jordan and Nigerian authorities to guarantee the safety and comfort of our pilgrims. We are confident this first batch will arrive safely, with subsequent flights following quickly,” he said.

Medical personnel and NCPC officials are accompanying the pilgrims to provide continuous support until they reach Nigeria.

This year’s pilgrimage attracted hundreds of faithful from across the country, eager to retrace biblical sites, strengthen their faith, and pray for peace and development in Nigeria.

Gloria Dandam, Director of the FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, commended the pilgrims for their orderly behaviour and praised the commitment of the officials from both the FCT Board and NCPC for ensuring a seamless exercise.
